Aldo Soares lives and works in Paris. Born nearby Porto in Portugal, his family left Portugal in 1965 and established in the north of France near Cambrai.

After scientific studies, he joins the capital for an administrative job. It is in 1987, after 6 years of boredom, that he decides to give up the public function for a sabbatical leave, during which he discovers photography.

The following year, the magazine Zoom publishes a portfolio with some of his portraits, which launches him into the world of professional photography.

His first assignments are published in Globe magazine and Liberation in 1988. The following year, the communication agency RSCG confides him his first advertising campaign: a series of black and white portraits for the CNP. His work for the press, book edition and advertising centers around the same theme, which is of great importance to him: People.
