BEGINNING OF YPF
ある二人の写真家の屋久島での出会い、
それが「屋久島国際写真祭 Yakushima Photography Festival (YPF)」の始まりでした。
2015年3月、屋久島在住の写真家 千々岩孝道の情熱に感銘を受け、フランス人写真家 ANTONIN BORGEAUDが共に発案・設立した写真プロダクション。この日仏共同主催による試みは、写真を通しての異文化交流を目的とし、九州初の国際フォトフェスティバルとして、「屋久島国際写真祭」を2015年より開催しております。
開催地である屋久島は、手つかずの自然が残る世界自然遺産として名高い島。しかし、その美しさは自然だけではありません。人と人のつながりや今も受け継がれている文化・風習からも感じることができます。
YPFが主催する「屋久島国際写真祭」は、国内外からの著名写真家によるワークショップや展示、そしてポートフォリオレビューを通して、従来の観光地のイメージだけではない、新しい屋久島の魅力を再発見できる場でもあります。また、YPFのユニークな特徴の一つとして、招待作家には屋久島を舞台に作品制作をしていただくプログラムを設けております。そこで制作された作品は、同年フランス・パリなどで行われる数々の国際的写真祭に出展されます。
これらの国内外の活動を通して、まだ知られざる屋久島の魅力を世界に発信すること、そこから島の活性化につながることを私たちは望んでいます。

BORGEAUD氏の言葉をもとに、屋久島の魅力、人の暖かさ、写真の楽しさをより多くの人に感じていただくことが 私たちの大きな願いです。
The meeting of two photographers on Yakushima was the beginning
of the Yakushima Photography Festival (YPF).
In March 2015, French photographer ANTONIN BORGEAUD came up
with and established a photography production company that was inspired by the passion of Yakushima-based photographer Kodo Chijiiwa. This trial jointly sponsored by Japan and France aims at cross-cultural exchange through photography.The Yakushima Photography Festival has been held since 2015 as Kyushu's first international photo festival.
Yakushima, the venue, is an island famous as a World Natural Heritage site where untouched nature remains.
But its beauty is not only natural.
You can feel it from the connections between people and the culture and customs that have been passed down to this day.
The Yakushima Photography Festival hosted by YPF is a place where you can rediscover not only the traditional image of a tourist spot but also the new charm of Yakushima through workshops, exhibitions, and portfolio reviews by famous photographers from Japan and abroad. there is.
In addition, as one of the unique features of YPF, we have set up a program for invited artists to create works on the stage of Yakushima.
The works produced there will be exhibited at numerous international photo festivals held in Paris, France, etc.
Through these domestic and international activities, we hope to convey to the world the charm of Yakushima, which is still unknown, and lead to the revitalization of the island.
