YPFフォトアワード2025 受賞者が決定しました！
世界自然遺産・屋久島を舞台に、未来の写真表現を切り拓く才能に光を当てる国際フォトアワード「YPF PHOTO AWARD 2025」。このたび、本アワードの審査結果が決定いたしました。
国内外から非常に多くのご応募をいただき、誠にありがとうございました。応募されたすべての作品からは、異なる文化的背景や表現方法が交差し、写真という普遍的な言語を通じて、いかに多様な視点が現代社会に存在しているかを改めて実感することができました。
本年度の審査は、以下3名の国際的な専門家によって行われました。
• クレオ・シャリュエ（グラフィックデザイナー・YPFアートディレクター）
• アデル・フレモル（ヴィラ九条山ディレクター）
• エリック・ピロー（フランスを拠点とするアートディレクター）
それぞれの作品に丁寧に向き合い、ビジュアルの完成度、物語性、革新性、将来性などの観点から評価が行われました。以下、審査結果を発表いたします。
Set on the stage of Yakushima, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, the “YPF PHOTO AWARD 2025” shines a light on emerging talents who are pioneering the future of photographic expression. We are pleased to announce that the jury has reached its decision.
We sincerely thank all the applicants from Japan and abroad for the overwhelming number of submissions we received. Through these works, we were reminded of how diverse perspectives coexist in contemporary society—crossing cultural backgrounds and modes of expression, yet connecting through the universal language of photography.
This year’s jury consisted of the following three international experts:

Each submission was carefully examined and evaluated on multiple aspects, including visual excellence, narrative quality, originality, and future potential. We are now delighted to present the results of the competition.

Godai Sugimizu
20代の頃、陸路のみのバックパックで北米大陸を縦断、その後も海外の島国を中心に旅をする。2022年高橋伸哉氏との出会いをきっかけに師事し本格的に写真の世界へ。2023年から旅先でも写真を撮るようになる。旅先での写真を通し、その土地の人々の感情や町がみせる表情の変化に「湿度」が密接に関係していると考える。以降は「湿度」をテーマに撮影を続けている。
現在、写真とは、紙という実在する物質に印刷されて初めて成立するものであるという考えのもと、自らの表現したい内容に応じて紙の選定から厳密な色調整までを行い、視覚的なテクスチャーを含めた一つの写真作品として表現している。
Photo Artist,Tokyo, Japan
During his twenties, he traveled across North America by land with a backpack, later continuing his journeys, primarily to island nations abroad. His serious engagement in photography began in 2022 after meeting Shinya Takahashi. From 2023, he started taking photographs during his travels.
Through his travel photography, Sugimizu explores how the emotions of people and the changing expressions of cities are deeply connected to the concept of "humidity," which has become the central theme of his work.
He works under the belief that a photograph only truly comes into existence when it is printed on paper―a tangible, physical medium. Based on this principle, he carefully selects the type of paper and meticulously adjusts the colors in accordance with what he aims to express, creating photographic works that incorporate visual texture as an essential element of their expression.

張 静怡(ジンイー・チャン)
張 静怡(ジンイー・チャン)は、ニューヨークと北京を拠点に活動するアーティストです。コロンビア大学大学院にて映画・メディア学(エマージェント・メディア専攻)の修士号を取得しました。彼女の制作は、写真、映像、インタラクティブデザインを含み、自然物に内在するメタファーの探求に焦点を当てています。
彼女の作品は、アメリカ、中国、日本、ブラジルなどで展示されており、主な展示会場には、亜昌芸術センター、言芸術
ギャラリー、Moon Gallery & Studio、Brooklyn Art Cave、The Peripherical Experiment、Flowing Space Gallery などがあります。
また、スイスの第5回IPFO(International Photo Festival Olten)やPhotoville4600に選出され、National Photographic
Society 主催の「アブストラクト」写真コンペティションにてメリット賞を受賞しました。

Jingyi Zhang is a New York/Beijing-based artist who graduated from Columbia University with an M.A. in Film
and Media Studies, Emergent Media track. Her practice includes photography, moving images, and interactive
design, focusing on metaphors embedded in natural objects.Her work has been exhibited in the United States,
China, Japan, and Brazil, at venues including Yachang Art Center, Yan Art Gallery, Moon
Gallery&Studio,Brooklyn Art Cave, The Peripheral Experiment, Flowing Space Gallery etc. She has been
selected in 5th IPFO (International Photo Festival,Olten), Photovile4600, and received The Merit Prize of
“Abstract” Photography Competition from National Photographic Society.

Jungyeon Lee
イ・ジョンヨン
ジュンヨン・リーは、文学を学んだのち、娘が鳥に夢中になったことをきっかけに、鳥の観察と撮影を始めました。彼女の制作活動は、文学的な思考を写真の構図や物語性へと翻訳し、さらに写真を再び言語へと還元するというものです。――「文学を写真に、写真を文学に」
Jungyeon Lee,trained in literature, began observing and photographing birds after her daughter became fascinatedby them. Her practice translates literary thinking into photographic framing and narrative, and returnsimages to language—“literature into photography, photography into literature.”

Matthew Landon Sommers
マシュー・ランドン・ソマーズ
マシュー・ランドン・ソマーズは、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス郊外の町で生まれ育ちました。
現在は東京を拠点に活動しており、生物と非生物の境界や交差点を探求するシーンを中心に撮影しています。
Matthew Landon Sommers was born and raised in a suburb town outside of Los Angeles, California. Now based in Tokyo, he is primarily focusing on photographing scenes that explore the intersection of living and non living forms.

Patrick Corrigan
パトリック・コリガン
パトリック・コリガン (1978年生まれ) はオハイオ州で育ち、2001年にシカゴ美術館附属美術大学(The School of the Art Institute of Chicago)で写真学の学士号(BFA)を取得しました。彼の作品は、帰属意識、つながり、目的といった基本的な人間のニーズが個人や、この分断の多い文化における広い風景の中でどのように現れるかに焦点を当てています。
彼の作品は、デヤング美術館、ザ・ブランド・ギャラリー、マーシャル・ギャラリーなどでアーティスト・コレクティブ
「Aurora Wilder」を通じて展示されるなど、数多くの展覧会で発表されています。また、コリガンの写真は過去のCPA公募展でいくつかの佳作賞を受賞し、2023年にはサンタフェ公募展への招待参加を果たしました。彼の作品は、多くの公共および個人コレクションに収蔵されています。現在、カリフォルニア州と日本を拠点に生活・制作活動を行っています。
Patrick Corrigan (b. 1978) grew up in Ohio and received his BFA in Photography at The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago in 2001. His work focuses primarily on basic human needs such as belonging, connection, and purpose and how these needs manifest within both individuals and the wider landscape of this divisive culture.
His work has been exhibited in numerous exhibi- tions – including at the deYoung Museum, The Brand
Gallery, and Marshall Gallery through artist collective Aurora Wilder. Corrigan’s photographs have received
several honorable mentions at past CPA Juried Exhibitions and is a 2023 Santa Fe Juried Invitation Attendee. His work is also held in numerous public and private collections. He currently lives and works in both California and Japan.

YPF PHOTO AWARDは、未来の写真表現を切り拓く才能に光を当てることを目的とした、国際公募のフォトアワードです。
屋久島国際写真祭（YPF）が主催し、自然と共生するこの特別な場所から、新たな視点と感性を世界に発信します。受賞者は、屋久島での滞在制作や作品展示をはじめ、国内外のキュレーターやフォトフェスティバル関係者とのネットワーキング、更に国内外におけるフォトイベントや展覧会への参加機会が、YPFギャラリーを通して提供されます。写真家としての新たな章を切り開くための一歩。ジャンルや経験を問わず、意欲ある写真家の挑戦を心より歓迎します。
The YPF PHOTO AWARD is an international open call that aims to spotlight emerging talents who are pushing the boundaries of photographic expression. Organized by the Yakushima Photography Festival (YPF), the award is rooted in a unique location where humans and nature coexist, offering a platform to share new perspectives and sensibilities with the world.
Award recipients will be given the opportunity to engage in an artist residency and exhibit their work on Yakushima Island. In addition, they will have access to networking opportunities with curators and photography professionals from Japan and abroad, as well as the chance to participate in international photography events and exhibitions through YPF Gallery’s network.
It is a gateway to the next chapter in your journey as a photographer. We warmly welcome the bold and the curious, regardless of genre or experience.
